Meet the Hosts!

Katie Woodzick (founder and host)  is a feminist, actor, director and writer. Originally from Wisconsin, they have a B.A. in Theatre/Dance from Luther College. They are passionate about non-profits and arts organizations and currently work as an External Relations Manager for Hedgebrook. Favorite acting roles include Clown #2 in The 39 Steps, Marian in The Music Man, Mrs. Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, Pirelli in Sweeney Todd, Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show and Little Red in Into the Woods. In 2016, they’ll be acting in The 39 Steps on the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts mainstage and directing The Flick at OutCast Productions. Learn more at

Olena Hodges (associate producer and guest host), lover of Shakespeare since before she could read, grew up on Whidbey Island, WA. She attended Western Washington University and finished her undergraduate degree with a BFA in acting from Southern Oregon University. Olena is also a graduate of Circle in the Square Theater School's two-year Professional Acting Conservatory. Olena is a founding company member of Whidbey's Island Shakespeare Festival.  Favorite roles include Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Rosalind (As You Like It), and Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing).  Other theaters include the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Ashland New Plays Festival. When not acting or podcasting, Olena works as the Director of Outreach for Island Shakespeare Festival.
